Germanwings is a German low-cost airline, founded in 1997, as this name has been used on the market since the beginning of the millennium. The main airplane bases are located in the two big German airports – in Cologne and Stuttgart and the bases in Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg and Hanover are of secondary importance.

The total number of destinations, to which the carrier flies, is 67. The company takes flights only to Europe. Germanwings is a partner of the German flag carrier Lufthansa, which means that passengers can take advantage of the Miles&More program for loyal passengers – this program is the biggest and the most

The airline has 30 airplanes – Airbus A319. The first one started flying in 2001.
